Hi folks, Im trying to get started in target shooting & Im in Meath & Wilkinstown is local.

Id be interested in joining , is anyone here a member?

Is it a good place for a complete novice to learn the fundamentals of shooting?

    Thanks.

Yes it is. They have two ISSF class C coaches and two ISSF class B judges among their members as well as National and Bisley junior medal winners. It's an air rifle and air pistol range and they have a lot of kit for members to use.

    Very good place to start.

Yes, I'm a member, and despite the bias, yes, I think it's an excellent place for a complete novice to start. It's airgun-only, mind, but if you've never shot before and it's target shooting you're interested in, that's not really a hinderance, it's actually a pretty good place to start from.

    Thanks for the reply Sparks,

I have shot a few times in my life but only informally once every few years on farm & FCA & some clay pidgeon busting on stag weekends but thats it really.

Airgun only would be ideal for me to be honest:D

I have forgotten everything I ever leant about accuracy so I would be better off starting from the start:o.

Should I ring someone on their website & get the ball rolling?

    Thanks

    David

Yeah, if you give Geoff a call on 046 9054167 (Geoff pretty much runs the club at the moment) and sort out a time to come down and take a peek and have a chat, that'd be the best way to get started.
