    Hi

I am looking to buy a new BMW 520 for Jan delivery.
I read originally that the auto version was €43,964. However I went to 2 bmw dealers over the weekend and both quoted €46K as list with cash discount of €1K

Anyone know what I should be paying on this> just want to make sure I'm not paying over the odds.

    Thanks in advance

    Fencer

If €46k includes delivery and metallic, then that's about right. €1,000 discount is pretty damn good considering there isn't a huge margin on BMW's and there is still high demand for the 520d.

Personally, I'd add the USB Interface (€304) and the Sports Steering Wheel (€163), then upgrade to the Sports Auto box as it's only an extra €200 if you've already specified the Sports Steering wheel..

I bought one of these in June and got 1000euro discount which seems standard although some have gotten more.
Would agree with R.O.R. re. extras.
It is a super car overall and seems to be selling well. My dealer told me that he couldn't get them quickly enough.

i fancy one of these myself fencer,
i was in one the other day very well equipped only thing over auto and sports steering wheel that i would suggest would be 18"alloys, the 16"looked pathetic,
expensive option i think about 1800e.
are ya buying st8 or trade in?

Buying straight. Thats why I thought €1K discount was less than expected. Though from the other posts it looks like thats the best I will get!

Would agree with post re. 18" alloys over standard wheels. Standard wheels not great looking.
I got them and they are euro980.
Some people advocate going to UK to buy as they reckon you will save but I don't know if this is correct also I would imagine an irish dealer would penalise you later in spite of the fact they were bringing cars in themselves at one stage in the "sterling collection".
