I'm afraid all we can say is that there are thousands of people in your situation, and there is not much we can do here except make sympathetic noises, encourage you to keep looking, or head back to the UK. :(

have you tried putting ads through people's doors or applying to an agency?

there's quite a bit of work for care assistants if you have experience (and iv found sending your cv and a cover letter to places that haven't advertised jobs can be a great way to get work)...also there are jobs..but you have to keep applying..applying and applying some more :)

if you worked as an au pair have you tried Nanny Solutions?? They are recruitment company for nannies or anyone qualified in childcare. You will have to fill out a Garda Clearance form,if you had the equivalent in england then that might help. good luck.

Ahhh youth .... I'd like a job so that I can keep a roof over my head and some food on the table. Keep trying OP, competition for jobs is fierce right now but you'll find something eventually.
