    Hi,

Im an IBL student heading to Montpellier in September, I'm really struggling to secure accommodation in the city. Was just wondering are there any former erasmus students or anybody else who could help me in any way or point me in the right direction.

    Thanks!

Surely to God the International Office are the ones to ask for assistance?

Yeah the International Office sort the university transfer but accommodation is your own job, I've asked in the International office but theres not much help they can give.

When I went on Eramus two years ago, the International Office made it clear that it was up to ourselves to get our accommodation.

You could look up CROUS, which is specifically for student housing and you might even get a small rent supplement from them every month (it's open to all students in France, regardless if you get a grant in Ireland). It might only amount to 50 euro off your rent but it's still worth it to look. Their Montpellier website is http://www.crous-montpellier.fr/

Alternatively, you could contact the International Office in your university in Montpellier. I did this in Toulouse and it just so happened that one of the women who worked there was looking for tenants in a flat that she owned.

    Hey there,
I did my Erasmus in Montpellier a few years ago. Definite first port of call is to ask the international office to put you in contact with the people on Erasmus there right now/last year. They'll probably have the most up to date contacts.
If not, there are two popular student residences, one is Clemenceau, the other Observatoire. Kinda expensive for what they are, but serve their purpose, and Clemenceau is right beside the bus stop to school.

If none of these options work, PM me and I can send you the number of my old landlord. He kinda ripped off a few people I referred to him, I personally wouldn't stay with him again, but if it's that or homelessness, you know.
PM if you want any other details on Montpellier or if there's anything else I can do.

Ooh, and I'm currently looking for an apartment in Paris, if anyone has any contacts there, I'm your new best friend!
