Speaker Fitting fiat punto.

    Hi Guys,

Looking for a bit of advice here.

I bought new speakers for the girlfriends 2001 fiat punto sporting as the old ones were terrible.

    I bought these http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/5005615/Trail/searchtext%3ECAR+SPEAKERS.htm

I had a quick look last night to see if I could fit these myself, I took the speaker cover off the door, disconnected the old speaker, there was a yellow connector with two spade connectors inside, I took the two spade connectors out and attached them to the new speaker and there was no sound?:( I reconnected the old one but there was no sound still. At this point I thought I would give up so I just screwed the old (non-working) speakers and attached the cover. I gave the cover a quick bang to make sure the clips were in and the speaker starting working again??

Can anyone with any knowledge of this give me advise here? Thanks,:o

You could of blown the fuse, I'm nearly sure the fuse box is to the right of the steering column on the Punto

    Not to be ignorant mate,

but what fuse would have blown? Like would the old speaker start working again even if the fuse had blown?
    Thanks in advance,

If you take off the cover there'll be a list of all the fuses. I have no idea what it'll be called but it'd be the first place I'd check. Is the speaker on the other side working?

Then it won't be the fuse I don't think! I only thought after I typed it earlier, your radio would of probably went off if the fuse blew.
