Hi Folks, have you had the experience of using Audacity music software? It seems to be a really useful tool for enhancing radio streams however I have reason to believe that the program is messing with my mac, have you had any problems while using it, are there known issues?

Used it for basic editing on OS X, Linux and Windows. Didn't notice any issues. What sort of "messing" are you seeing?

I'm not sure of the relevance yet but do you see the document icon for a saved file on your desktop, it has an audacity logo "a red and yellow spikeball wearing blue headphones"?, well i've been noticing that the logo's mysteriously disappear after the "disconnection event" which is when my puter disconnects from the internet in a dodgy mode, curious for sure?

Yes, no doubt about it, Audacity contains some type of Trojan which connects to the internet all by it's self! and I thought hacking was supposed to be a secret affair. Seems like an efficient way to harvest new musical material.

Might be worth running a network protocol analyser to rule it out. Then again, did you download the binary from a legitimate site or from some super shady mirror?
