Not knowing who to call in relation to problems in the estate is a persistent problem. Of course an event horizon is the edge of a black hole from which nothing, including light , energy , matter or negative equity buyers of houses in ghost estates can escape from. And let's face it - the developers and the banks are one big black hole for taxpayers' money now.

Actually, blackholes give off radiation known as Hawking radiation, so some form of energy is given off. That was very pedantic, apologies, but your analogy is pretty much bang on.
