Is there any free parking in the general area of college? It's been a while since I was there so I can't remember. Wouldn't mind having to walk 10-15mins.

Poulladuff park and ride is pretty handy and you don't have to be there too early. http://www.ucc.ie/en/build/commuting/parkandride/ and the summer timetable is http://www.ucc.ie/en/build/commuting/parkandride/SummerTimetable/2010-Summer-printed-Timetable.pdf

Other than that there's nowhere else besides a few spots in some of the local housing estates, but those are closely guarded secrets ;)

Parking in UCC is a pain to be honest, the park and ride is your best bet for reliable transport to and from college.

I havn't been there in 3yrs and it was a pain in the arse back then as well. Might do a bit of recon during the week to see what the story is. There's always Dennehy's Cross as well.

If your going to use Dennehy's Cross, make sure your there really early, the place can be full by 8am and its can be a big pain getting in there. Plus there's the traffic issues in the evening.

Try get in before 8am to get your space. The bossy man himself ( name Frank??) can be quiet tough at times eg closing the gate abit earlier at times - maybe it is just me!!

The only thing to be early to avoid traffic and you will get a car space for the day. It is quiet nice to be early and have spaces to park so you can chill out! Have a nice breakfast (or take away tea/coffee) and eat anywhere in ucc before going to lectures/library etc...

    Fab!

you got a better chance of seeing the president running naked handing out rubbers during rag week than getting free car parking near ucc (or anywhere in cork for that matter) tbh.

you can usually take a chance between the mardyke and fitzgeralds park, wardens never operate much down there

True, unless its the student president who I believe wore some type of a condom/banana suit as part of his campaign? (waits for him to emerge from woodwork :D)
