I have feck all cutlery left to eat with because its gone rusty. Think its the dishwasher that caused the rust too. I have a drawer of rusty cutlery and would love to know is there anything i can get/use to get rust out of cutlery. I dont to be buying cutlery every two or three weeks for it to go rusty. I have already tried brillo, and wd40. They haven't worked.

    Rub a lemon on them.

lick it. the saliva from your tongue contains anti-oxidants that gets rust off almost anything*. it's scientifically proven.

    *this is not true

Rubbing it with tinfoil like said above does work.
I've never heard of cutlery rusting though.
Some of mine has been around for 15 years!

living in a hard water area and/or not using the recommended dosage of dishwasher detergent can cause cutlery rust

Shout at the rust, it should fall right off.

Steal some plastic cutlery and use that instead.

Soak them in Milton & boiling water, do the mugs while you're at it

Thanks for replies. will try the tin foil, lemon juice and milton. As for the other replies - MCDONALDS no no and no.

Liquidising your food and sucking it up a biro tube usually does the trick.

Use your fingers, fuck the cutlery :pac:

Dump it all and use chop sticks instead. Easy to clean, takes up less storage space, helps you stay thin/lose weight (as it's a bloody effort to eat anything) and makes you look more culturally sophisticated ;)

You need to buy the more expensive dishwasher safe cutlery, not the cheap tesco ones. Happened to me before.:o

Oh my god the tin foil worked. All the cutlery is now soaking in milton for good measure.

Now - if you make a hat from the tin foil & wear it, your cutlery will never go rusty again.

The quickest solution to the problem is:

Put them in the microwave set the time to 10 minutes ,put on full power.

And make sure to put your face right up close to the door of the microwave and watch the rust magically disappear*

*I didn't tell you to do this

Sadly, I have discovered that Foil Hats cannot stop a situation like this.
They only help to keep Space Aliens from probing ones mind.
However, if Space Aliens are probing his mind and causing his cutlery to rust in that manner, then you are really on to a solution there!
