"does exactly what it says on the tin" ...... for any "football specials" bets out there.

    Next permanant Villa manager......any ideas?

I'm just watching goals on sunday and Phil Brown is on. He made a comment saying "when I was at Villa park yesterday" and that got me thinking, why was he at Villa Park? He's currently not working, so not scouting. He's a sunderland fan....if he was wanting to watch a game wouldnt he want to watch sunderland?

So had a look at his odds on becoming the next Villa manager and he is 50/1.

Are there any Villa fans out there who can comment further on whether or not he's been linked? Only name I've heard talked about is Bruce Arena

Mate he also said he was Carrington(ManYooo's training ground) and he's hoping to check out Man City's as well :p

Just having a look around at the coaching done at clubs and seeing if he pick up anything.

I heard that, that was maybe 10 minutes after he said about being at Villa game.

Most coaches/managers have been around different clubs at pick up techniques. I know Moaninho(while at Barca) and I think also Benitez(while at Madrid) spent time at man utd's training.

I'm just wondering because he actually went to their 1st game in charge after o'neill left. He's also used to working on a very tight budget which would probably sit well with randy lerner

I can assure you, Phil Brown will not be the next Villa manager!

My money would be on Jol.

On Villatalk an "in the know" mentioned Lerner has jetted over to Milan this morning.

Another well respected in the know said this:

"Here who isn't coming BOB BRADLEY non interest in him what so ever .

Sven whilst respected not seen as a candidate would prefer someone younger who they can build a dynasty around rather than someone who might stay only short term.

    Hughes no comment

    Jol again little comment"

    I thought maybe Jol,or Eriksson.

Jol will not be manager of Villa, I guarantee it. Remember all the fuss between Fulham and Ajax when they tried to get him? They haven't got a hope of signing him.

Depends how much they want him, he can be bought out of his contract.

And Jol would certainly rather Villa than Fulham,Villa wouldn't be 100 miles outside of the top 4.

Joe Kinnear said he'd consider it.

I think its pretty obvious that O'Neill left over money and players being sold without his consent to cash in. Why would Jol give up a good thing he has at Ajax to go into a financially struggling club who have a chairman that probably wouldn't pay to get him there. You have to remember he is going to have to pay compensation too for o'neill.

Kinnear  Somehow I dont think his health would be upto it so dont think a club would take a chance on him.

How about a Villa old boy in Stan Staunton? :D I know he's probably the worst manager that has ever been given a job....but he's be cheap!

ahahha just checked and PP have odds on Staunton....125/1

    Diego Maradona, anyone? :pac:

His agent has said he would be interested in the job. It would be comical having Maradona managing in the Premiership.

Somehow, I doubt he is what Randly Lerner is looking for at the moment.

In what has been another excellent market for bookies, the bloke in charge now (McDonald?) has been backed into 11/8.
He is now the latest favourite in a line including Eriksson, Bradley and Jol. Plus they have probably taken a few bob on Staunton and Maradona too! Easy money for them!

MoN currently at 12s for next Rep manager. Heard Trappatoni's been ill recently and he's old so may not stick about much longer(in management...not life:p).

I'm pretty sure Maco Tardelli will take over when Trap's time has come.

well don't keep us in suspense

Bradley back down to clear favorite after his comments today and Villa taking a raping from newcastle so guess macdonald is out now.

Phil Brown is 80/1 on PP but only 14/1 on WH  Do WH know something we don't?

    Anyone watching MOTD2?

Brown is obviously interested, otherwise he would have just said so

Currently the odds are not available for him
