    Hi, Folks.

Yes, I have read earlier threads, and I'm still not that clear on the way to go. Herself needs a new car, and has a car to scrap. The brief is this:
    • she drives about 10 km a year, two-thirds on open roads including motorways and also some bumpy rural roads
    • passenger capacity is not important, so a 3-door is acceptable
    • resale value is not important, but reliability and longevity are - she wants something that can be kept in good nick for 8+ years
    • she frequently carries work-related stuff, so wants a decent boot, preferably with no lip or a low lip
    • she wants adequate power for easy overtaking
    • she requires a good safety spec (should go without saying, I suppose) and wants to be as environmentally friendly as reasonably feasible
    • price matters, but is not the main deciding factor.

She has tried the 3-door Clio and the 3-door Polo, and both are candidates. She has looked at the Fiesta but not had the opportunity to drive it; it's still on the list of possibles. The Ford Ka is not. The Micra did not grab her interest.

Opinions and advice would be welcome.
