@dotcommolly - you don't happen to work for Citydeal do you ?

saw today that there was 13 hours left to buy the sight-seeing deal and then next time I checked it was 90% off some laser hair removal

I had just messaged my mam to tell her there was something on the site that my brother and his french girlfriend might be interested in!
    LOL
    :pac:

Nope I don't work for them, but I do get a referral kick back if you join after following my link & buy a deal :) and then you can do the same.
I've bought a voucher for Darwins and a spa day in The Retreat so far :) out of my own money, have some credits built up now for the next one that takes my fancy.

    Dotcomdolly,

Referral links are not allowed on Bargain Alerts.

If they were, I would made an absolute mint by now! ;)

Just a question Basquille and im not questioning boards policies, but why not? If they are genuine bargains i cant see the harm in another BA poster getting something back if there is something to get back? If people are interested and they click through and get something they want for an absolute bargain (and in fairness some of the citydeals are great bargains) then why cant the original poster get something back.. its a win win situation in my opinion.

Just interested as to why your not allowed to refer a link?

Thanks for bringing up a good point.. I don't think we've elaborated on this.

Speaking personally, I'd rather them be banned outright than have the moderators, admins & users pick and choose and question a valid affiliate link from the questionable (and just downright dodgy) affiliate links every time they come up.

For every worthwhile and genuinely beneficial affiliate link we'd get, there'd be 100 of the following:

"Get an iPad with just 3 clicks of your mouse, then throw some salt over your left shoulder and cough into a turtle's face"
"You can win an Xbox 360 by referring 3 friends, 7 animals and the prime-minister of Guam.. in that order!"

    :pac:

Go to any comments section on a Wordpress / Blogspot blog and you'll see what I mean by these dodgy affiliate links. They're generally frowned upon (and mostly disallowed) on most forums because of this very reason.

    Hope this clears it up!

Fair point, I guess I am assuming that people would use common sense in regards to referring a link... i.e its a GENUINE bargain, but then again I still get chain mails from supposedly 'intelligent' friends saying if you send this mail onto 60,507,341 friends Bill Gates will turn up on your doorstep clad in a leopard print mankini, singing the nation anthem of Turkestan as he hands you a cheque for €10,000,000 for your invaluable assistance in his marketing drive.

Bottom line, common sense is not that common.

Thanks for clearing it up :-)
