Recently I was labeled in another forum as angry because I'm from Kansas. For me this is a stereotype that is perpetuated throughout the world, mainly because all anyone outside the US has experience with is with the coastal states.

So I'm curious, has anyone here been to Kansas? Where in Kansas did you travel? What did you think? What were the stereotype views you had prior to arriving in the state? Did it live up to your initial views? Did it dispel your views? Something else?

    Hehe!

To be honest I get a kick out of the Dorothy stereotypes. When I was in Russia back in 1999 I found that most people thought the Wizard of Oz was a fairy tale originating in Kansas.

//Secretly I wish the state song were changed from "Home on the Range" to "Over the Rainbow."
