Ok. Let me start in saying i am a registered user and do comment on this board often.
Im going unregistered due to the embarrassment of asking this question.
    So here it is.

Are gay men who have anal sex more prone to getting piles? and if so is there a way to prevent this.
Im really sorry if this seems a stupid question but it has really been on my mind.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also while here, I think it's a good idea to set up a LGBT health issues and advice sticky.

Anything which stresses the anal wall can increase the risk of piles, tears, fissures and skin tags. So there would be some increased risk, however proper use of lubricants would reduce that.

However, if you assume you have piles without it being confirmed that you do have them - DON'T. Go get it checked, it could be anything from warts to actual damage through to, well, piles.
