Streaming audio & video from PC

Looking to put a NAS in place for entertainment purposes, and was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice on the entertainment system side of things. I'm familiar with the NAS/Computer side of things, but when it comes to streaming audio & video....

Ok, so I'm looking at getting a NAS, maybe the Netgear Stora, and putting all my audio and video on this. I then want to be able to stream the audio and video from this around the house.

    1. Video: Video isn't so much of a problem as I have an Xbox. How can I stream video stored on the NAS to the TV in my living room? I presume I can just use the Xbox for this. But is there any other way of doing it without the Xbox (ie. if I want to be able to stream it to the TV in my bedroom as well?). And, can I just navigate the video folders on the NAS through the Xbox?

    2. Audio: I know you can stream audio over the Xbox as well - but then I'd have to play it through my TV, which I'd rather not do. Is there any device / audio player available that I would be able to stream audio to? The thing here is, I also want to be able to navigate my audio folders on the NAS from this device.

I've a few more questions in relation to the above, but we'll get the ball rolling first :p

Thanks in advance for any advice on this :D

What type of Tv's have you got?

    Buy a HP Media Smart

Well I'm upgrading my TV so I'm happy to take recommendations on that.

I'd rather avoid the HP Media Smart considering the price. I imagine I'll be able to achieve this for a lot cheaper with the NAS, as long as I can get around the issue with the folder browsing and audio streaming.
