    My own family.

I am going back to college in a month's time and absolutely terrified of the financial side of things. I have already been to college, so not entitled to the grant for doing a second course. To make things even harder on myself, i have to move to do the course which means moving out of home and giving up with full time work. But its something i have always wanted to do. Im 28 and 10 years ago i wanted to do the same course and if i dont do it now, it'll be the same in 10 years time. I have to at least try.

I will be doing a 2 year plc course and the course fees aren't to bad compared to university. But then when you add in books, rent, bills, food, clothes, medical expenses etc it all adds up. Im not even planning nights out cause its one less thing i can do without. And the fear of not getting a job. I am absolutely terrified.

I have been counting every cent for the past year but today i have found 100 euro missing from my room. It was to pay part of the course fee which i have to pay the balance in two weeks time. I did have a bit of an emergency fund saved, not alot but i did not think i will be digging into it before i even start the course.

Right now i am so pissed off, how can anyone steal - your own family too. Some people might say its only a hundred euros but i need it. I dont know what to do, i am terrified of moving away and worrying about money and to have it stolen. I have been thinking i should give up, but i hate my job and i have already been told that if you get offered a place on the course, we cant defer it and we wont get a second chance at applying. They wont accept you next year.

Never leave money lying around. It should be in a bank or on your person in a secure wallet. If it was taken by a member of your family they might own up if you confront them and say they "borrowed" it. You might get it back sometime.

I didn't just leave it lying around. I had it locked in a box, in one of those small safes. And then hid the key in my room (small key and if i carry it with me, il end up losing it. I already lost one). They went rooting in my room and found the key. I haven't left all my savings in it. Just a small bit until i banked it.

Ok well you need to find out who stole your money. It doesn't matter if it was €10 or €100 or €1,000 that was taken, it's still stolen money, regardless of the amount. And besides €100 is a lot of money.

So time to confront your family and find out who stole it. Oh and I would also get a lock installed on your bedroom door to prevent this kind of thing happening in the future. If they are willing to root around your room, then you have no privacy whatsoever.

Would you not be entitled to the medical card? You wont be getting a grant or you wont be earning a wage so surely you would be entitled to the medical card. Just dont declare all your savings when you are filling in any forms. it will be one expense of your back.
Does the college arrange any digs? - you know when live in with a family. it would be cheeper than rent.
