Looking for Wholesale Exporters of Irish Products

I'm about to start up a business here in Finland and we're concentrating on selling products from the British Isles.

I've found it easy enough to import the products I'm looking for from Britain but they don't have Irish products. It's mainly food products that we'll be selling.

I've found exporters of Irish food products but they are not at wholesale price and are aimed at the general public and not B2B.

So are there any wholesalers out there that can export products such as Oatfield Sweets, Jacobs Biscuits... etc?

    Thanks in advance.

Open ana ccount with a cash and carry e.g. musgraves or BWG. Identify the lines that you want to stock. Get a haulier and a quote and then buy the stock in either pallet or container quantity's depending on the volume of business your doing.

The haulier will ship it for you......be careful of costs as this may be expensive....so shop around.

I think that's how the Irish shops in the US do it......the more you can buy the better the deal with Musgraves.

Thanks. This is one option I was considering but I thought there might have been some online wholesaler that also exports (logistics included). There are a few in Britain like that but don't seem to be any in Ireland. :(

Musgraves are quite hard to deal with online. Their application to become a customer/member is done on paper. It involves printing out the application form, filling it in, and then posting it to them.

what type of volume would you be looking at per order?

For something like this, and if the volumes are significant, it may be worthwhile making the trip to Ireland/Dublin and meeting someone from the wholesalers directly.

That way you have the relationship on solid footing plus a face to the name that will help if there are problems. Also, it will alllow you to peruse the stock in more detail and perhaps give you more ideas for your business.

Alternaitvely, contact some of the companies/brands directly......
