    Hi folks,

For as long as i can remember our opening day of the duck shooting was always spent on lough derg.same 3 guys every year.Bring up the boat and decoys night before and have everything ready to go for the following morning.Only problem this year is that we do not have a boat due to thieves.Just wondering has anyone ever spent an opening morning just shooting from the shoreline up there over decoys and had they much success. We were thinking of putting out our decoys in a particular spot and staying to that for the day.I know its a huge expanse of water and you'd be much better in the boat but that aint going to happen this year.Any views appreciated.

I tried that a few times, but as you said a huge spance of water. Unless there is a few people around the lake shooting to keep the ducks moving you will have a long day with the odd shot, i also have a boat up there. When and where was your boat stolen from
