I wonder could it be an idea to have a sticky giving details of the next upcoming shows for quick reference and last minute decisions.

Yep, definitely a run from Kanturk on Sunday.

Don't know the start time though. Ring Dermot Foley's garage in Kanturk. He'll know.

Yoy know y'all just raised a point there dudes. What's your preference? Static shows or cruising? I like going to shows good enough but 3-4 hours is enough for me at any show. By that stage you've seen all the cars, talked to whoever you wanted to talk to, ate ****ty expensive food and used a ****ty smelly portaloo. Plus at least 50% of the time it rains. There's lots of shows on each year catering to various tastes and there's quite a few that will always be in my calender but at the end of the day my passion is driving, driving a car I love. To be honest I much prefer a nice run down the country somewhere, stopping off in a pub for lunch and having a bit of craic than standing around in a field for 6 hours.

    Worth a seperate thread?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,733 ✭✭✭✭corktina

Please don't divert this thread....we didn't hear from unkel yet :-(

well I like the run and show type events where you do both....

I was at a great one the aug bank holiday weekend in sligo.

But I do agree for me its more about the driving than standing around.

All depends really, take for instance the Limerick Junction show four of us had a nice hour and a half of a spin up to it and again down afterwards. The food issue at most shows can be a problem alright, but i guess you can bing an ol picnic with ya if you want something a bit better. At least at the junction there is a bit of choice, and most of the bigger shows are the same,Charleville being a case in point.

As they say though, cars were meant for driving!:D

New thread started on the show / cruise debate so as not to derail 'Tina's thread: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=67574308#post67574308

Indoor show at the Equestrian Centre in Cavan this Sunday, exhibits must be pre 1980 (although none of the stewards could decipher the 1981 Irish reg car I brought last year:D). Usually a good turnout at this event and theres a canteen onsite too.
