Nice summary on what is upcoming, i love alien invasions flicks :)

    http://www.cinemasoldier.com/articles/2010/7/29/alien-invasion-movies-are-taking-over-hollywood-16-of-them-f.html

My only problem is....we always win!
I liked to see a movie without the Hollywood happy ending, where we get our ass kicked and lose!
I mean, if aliens did come don't to start some sh*t we'd totally get pwned!

The version from 2001 with Mark Wahlberg and the planet of the apes 2 from 1968,dont think they have made a remake of that one yet though.

I've always preferred the Independance Days and Cloverfields when it comes to invasion flicks. We win at the end of the day, but there's a hell of a mess to clean up and not everyone makes it.

Really looking forward to Battle: Los Angeles.

Well, in The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy the aliens "won" in the first ten minutes ... not that that made life any easier for Ford Prefect.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Thing with Cloverfield is that it's still debatable about whether or not we won.

Independance Day always stands out as a classic.
I enjoyed the concept of "The day the earth stood still" but didnt like the casting. Maybe thats just because I,m not the biggest fan of Keanu Reeves!
I absolutely hated "War of the worlds". I just thought it was a dire movie in almost every way.

You kids won't know it but Invasion (1966) is a nice little film on this theme. Saw it as a child and one scene always stuck with me even after I had long forgotton which film it came from, so I got a surprise when I caught it about 2 years ago in BBC2.

And one cannot overlook another British minor classic from the same year
