WoW not for me...

Did it for a bit, but sick of it now: it just doesn't have the same pull as other games had. Meh.

Seems I had to buy the game, and then the pre-paid game card, so meh, never got around to buying the game. TBH, with 2 days left of the trial, I stopped playing, and have yet to go back. These MMO's where you can't just kill people without having to do stuff (and pay for the privilege of doing stuff) just doesn't really appeal to me.

So, what do ye think I should ask for the WoW people to do to get the 60 day game card?

Yeah, I've literally lost friends to it.

I was given a free 14-day copy in Game the other day - that CD will never be put into my PC; I've heard too many stories about people whose lives have been destroyed.

Yea WoW just didn't capture my interest, in terms of RPG's i still think Diablo had it beat hands down. I'd tried a trial of WoW, even got given a one year subscription of a mate who won a comp but didn't want it, needless to say that went unused.

WoW is barely even a game, farmville with orcs.

Portal, Team fortress 2, Street Fighter, etc would be far more enjoyable to sink some hours into and without being utterly soul destroying.

I played other MMO'a when I was younger, will never go back. Complete waste of time.
Although I do sometimes miss the stories and the action. But to get to either you need to sit through about 10 hours of doing nothing

Going for a wild guess here and going by your other post, you are talking about the world of warcraft - which has its own forum

Guild Wars might suit you better. There's a trial version, the first game is just €14.99 now, online, and that's it, no other fees. It's a bit old now, but it runs great on older PCs, and you can go straight in to PvP if you like.

Pretty much all entertainment is a waste of time. Playing WoW is no worse than someone watching a lot of TV/movies, reading a lot, etc.

not exactly true...WoW has a very addictive nature, you can't just "put it down", it has to be "yeah, just give me 10 minutes....".

With books/films/tv, you can always put them down, pause etc..

Okay, there seems to be some confusion about my post. Here's a simple version.

I got WoW.

I got a 60 day pre-paid card for WoW.

I got bored of WoW.

I did not use pre-paid card for WoW.

I have a pre-paid card for WoW that I won't use.

I am going to give it away.

I want people of After Hours to think of something stupid I can get WoW people to do in order to get this pre-paid card.

I remember reading an interview from the main brains behind the concept of the game development of WOW and a lot of other games in the same vein. He compared them to a Skinner Box, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._F._Skinner , and wasn't even a little bit stand offish about saying it. Why would he be? He went so far as to sight Skinner as a major influence in how he developed the concept of these games. I'll try and dig up the interview and post it, it was from a few years ago.

WoW is a horrible game. It barely is a game! Most of the time you feel like it's playing you, and you can actually hear your heart slowly breaking as it asks you to source yet another 50 bear pelts/dingo kidneys.

Do the right thing and play Super Mario Bros. 3 for about five minutes, it's far more enjoyable than a month's worth of right-clicking on monsters.
