Ok guys my NCT is coming up in 3 weeks time and there is one of my rear number plate lights not working. I can assume that will be an automatic fail so its best I replace it.

I just want to know how do I access the blown bulb? Do I have to unscrew the transparant plastic cover in front of the bulb? Is that the correct method or is there an access point somewhere in the back of the boot door? The car is a 2000 audi A4.

    Thank you.

Its a fail if the plate lights arent working. More modern cars
you just have to pop the plastic cover off the bulb holder with
    a thin flat screwdriver.

Older ones have two small philips head screws.
Take you time first and check the front and rear then take it from there.
    2 minute job.
