Why does weatherforecast.com always register showers as light rain

If anyone has ever been to this site you would know what site I am referring to. I am confused about when certain forecasters forecast say heavy rain showers for a county but when I check on this site, this site says the exact opposite e.g light rain (8mm mostly falling on fri night). I am confused about why they say that and even if the showers are heavy ( and sometimes those showers are brief)
