IMO, the worst traffic lights must be the ones coming from Connolly Hospital into Blanchardstown village. 3 cars at most get through.
Sorry Mods if this was done before but it took me 6 changes of lights to get into the village today at 3 pm.

The quays going into town the first three or four sets of lights don't sync up so its impossible to get anywhere during rush hour actually these days with everyone unemployed its impossible to get anywhere in town at any time.

Springdale Road, Raheny. It seems to be beam operated. But unless cars stop in front of the stop line and don't roll forward, it can take forever to change.

Pet gripe about many signals would be that some drivers don't stop at the stop line, and therefore are not on top of the magnetic (?) sensors and the result is everyone waits longer than necessary.

The ones coming down the hill into the roundabout before the Jack Lynch Tunnel seem to change pretty quick

Without looking at the thread I thought of these lights straight away! Pain in the hole!

These are the most annoying lights.

There is no junction, there is no pedestrian crossing.
There is no reason for these lights!

And you sit there waiting for them to go green, with a clear road in front of you.

    The Quays in what town/city?

I hate those lights as well. You make up lots of time on the Motorway and then Jack and his roundabout scupper everything.

I hate the lights at the junction between Lough Atalia road towards the Huntsmann Inn in Galway. Every since they turned that roundabout into a massive traffic light junction the place is simply bedlam.

Limerick city centre is built like on a block system so there are few lights and they work quite well. Many of the newer sections around the city have sensors and when people actually stop on them they work a treat.

Sounds like you don't stop on amber as required by law?

Not at all. I don't mind the amber ones - at least you get some time to prepare and reflect on the situation.
