2005 E60 BMW 525i

Any owners out there who can give a little info on this; mpg etc?

Thinking of buying one (2.5l petrol) but is the 530D (3.ol diesel) an absolute no brainer?

I just bought an 06 one. May have a diff engine to the 05, I think they changed engines on the 525 around then. Mine is the 218hp one and I get 33mpg in mixed driving.

Yip, 2005 is 2.5 and 2006 on is 3.0l.

Mine is 2.5 also but think there were a couple of versions of the engine. They increased power and fuel consumption.

It's a great car to drive, I love it. Plenty of poke and a nice purr when you rev it.

One warning though, all your mates will think you've come into money. It looks far more expensive than it is.

i know there was a new 3.0l 525 in late 2007 i think. It has Efficent Dynamics. I can't find anything that says the 2006 has increased output over the 525. If they are the same displacement may they remapped a bit as a tune on the 2005 525i brings it up to 218hp

Mucking about for insurance quotes on 2005 525i. It is an M Sport (body kit, m badges etc.)

However, i have 2 choices when specifying the car:

525 I SPORT
525 I M SPORT

A cartell check brings up 525I Sport, any know the difference, if any!?
