    Hey all.

The local garage is doing a special offer on Bridgestone ER300's. 85 each including fitting and balancing.

Thats 170 for the two I need.
Eiretyres have two ER300's for 127.60 incl. delivery and camskill do it for 140.

So, in this instance getting them off the web isnt totally worth it since Id only have about a tenner to spare once I found a place to fit the Eiretyre ones.

So, if the ER300's are a quite a good tyre I will go with the local garage since it does seem to be a good price for them. Maybe even buy 4 now and get the other two fitted down the line at the same garage or get 4 eyretyre ones and get those fitted somewhere.

What do you think? Id love a quiet, long lasting tyre with good all-round grip. My All Season Tyre idea doesnt seem to be working out as I cant find good reviews about how the dry and wet grip shape up compared to Summer tyres.

Nice grip! I have them on my car.
Only problem is these are hard on wheel balancing.
Had to get it done three times after i changed them.

I have these on my car and I find them very good. They are quiet enough with good grip and wear. I got a couple of tyres about a month ago for €90 each fitted so your price is good enough.

I had ER300's on my car since new. When the fronts wore out, I moved the rears to the front, and bought 2 Michelin Energy Savers.

I intend buying 2 more when the ER300's wear out.

My reasons were a bit odd to be honest. When I bought the car it had ER300's on it. As I had no choice in tyres when I bought the car, I just fancied a change!

Took the car to France for the third time, and this time both myself and my missus thought that the new tyres were quieter. This was an important factor when choosing the new tyres. Also, they look like 'normal' tyres, not tyres with some fancy grooves as the tread, I didn't want my MPV to look like it had tyres from a sportscar.

I did plenty of research when I was buying the tyres, and spent plenty of time on http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/ .

I bought the Michelins from eiretyres.ie . Delivered quickly, and fitted locally. The tyres cost €180 delivered to my door.

Ill give them a look see. The local garage will do Michelin but they will be expensive. How are those wearing compared to the ER's?

    Bridgestone Turanza
    ER300 Ecopia 195 65 15 91V Z €71.70 each + €15 fitting and bal
    ER300 195 65 15 91 V €70.90 each + €15 fitting and bal
    Michelin Energy Saver
    195 65 15 91H GRNX €72.50, S1 €74.10 each + €15 fitting and bal
    Hankook Optimo 4S H730
    195 65 15 95H XL 4PR M+S marking €74.20 each + €15 fitting and bal
    195/65 R15 91V 4PR M+S marking €75.50 each + €15 fitting and bal

Local garage will push for the Bridgestone since thats the only tyre they can touch price wise.

I have no idea what the GNRX, 4PR and the 91 part of 91V means. :o
    EDIT:

I do now, except for 4PR, GNRX and the lone Z in the first tyre listed.

The GRNX means Green X, Michelins name for its green tyre. Dont know about 4PR or the Z.

    Thanks for the info Fiesta.

Ill do some research on those Michelins and some more on the Hankooks.

There is a good chance Ill be driving from Belfast to the Midlands once or twice a month so in the winter months having the All Seasons would be an extra comfort considering their more suitable temp ranges in our winter and especially if we have as bad a winter that we did have. I just need to be sure in the knowledge that they are no worse then the Cooper Zeon XTC's that I have on the wagon now, which I have to say havent seemed to let me down at all despite needing replacing after 10,000 miles. Which may be better then I think it is.

    I've a lot to learn!

After a lot of thought and reading reviews I think Ill go for a punt and get two Hankook Optimo 4S tyres, see how they go and make a decision on the other two in a few months. Ill be banking on their at least average performance in the current weather and their very good performance in the winter.
