Skype from THREE network works on HTC Desire

Friend, who has a HTC Desire there, just Skyped me to tell me that they downloaded Skype from My3 to their Android phone, and were using it! It worked no probs, and quality seemed fine. He's happy cos now he can use the free Skype-to-Skype calls from THREE on his Android... no more scouring MarketPlace for it.

Looks like that Flex Lite plan for 30 yo-yo is starting to get a bit more appealing...:cool:

Three's skype service actually works by calling a phone number and routing the skype traffic that way. If you're on 3 and not roaming the call should be free but I would be wary of using it when roaming.

you can Skype for free on a 3 Irish mobile in the UK for sure. I think I also used it in Italy for free.

You cannot use the free 3 skype when roaming unless when on another 3 network when it'll still be free

Does this mean that the free Skype service is only available when it is preinstalled on a phone bought from 3 ?

I have a windows mobile (HTC Touch Cruise 09 ) and have the skype program installed , is there any way for me to use it for free , without using my units for data ?

You need the skype app from H3GI for it to be free. The normal skype app works totally different.

As Ling as you have the three version odd Skyler installed then your Skype calls are free and better quality add they work over a normal phone call. The normal skype application uses your data connection so the cost associated with that depends on your darts package.

Thanks for the info . The version I have is the standard Skype program .

Sorry guys but if I get a desire, unlock it from O2 can i download the skype app from three?
