Well, Friday the 13th, anyone with problems noticed if things have improved with 3?

They've also a full page add in this morning's Irish Times advertising a free iPhone 4 on their top plan. Cocky or confident?

For me they have fixed it. Most of the time I have a 3G signal anyway so I never really had a problem but it's great to have the GPRS to fallback on. Plus I didn't update my carrier settings so I can turn 3G off to save battery and still have Internet.

    Well done 3!!! :)

Well am at home in Waterford just turned off my wifi and cellular data to test if I can connect to Internet and I can't. Does this mean that I don't have the GPRS fallback or do I have to wait if out and about to see ? Thanks

GPRS is cellular data so you will need to keep that turned ON

Three most definitely did some kind of network upgrade last night.

Not for me. I got the circle and then it disappeared and was left with 3 or 4 bars of 2 g coverage with no circle. I can still get 3g but when that drops off i get good 2g coverage with no circle. Pissed off is not the word. Have done all the usual resets and enabled everything still no joy

The network seems to be handling handovers a lot better today. Mine is sticking with 3G all morning even when there's only 1 bar. Whereas yesterday, in the same place, it would drop over to the other network "3" if the "3 (3G)" network had low signal.

My Carrier is set to Automatic in settings.

Nope. Still no 2G network here in north dublin and 3G still the same.

I just get the lil o now, not a whisper of 3G! And I'm Dublin City centre at mo, and it was like that on the bus all the way in.

Better than nothing doh, it has been atrocious over last few days, hope this is not the only fix.

Fine for me so far - have GPRS

Getting GPRS was not enough for me, the fact that it bumps you off 3G when there is a 3G signal present is not ok. I returned my handset (after quite a bit of arguing), and will happily switch to o2.

    Working OK in Sligo.

It holds the 3G singnal longer. And when you switch to 3 (Vodafone) you now have GPRS data. Slow and does not allow all applications to work.

Was thinking of leaving them over this and now I think I will stay :)
