plenty of value in quads at the moment , check out donedeal.ie

for that kind of money , unless you go for a 2wd , your looking at a 6 year old at least , honda are the most expensive , thier probabley the best although yamaha are excellent also , suzuki are less common , are less expensive ( 2nd hand ) but thiers nothing wrong with them either , go for one of those three and you should be fine , quads are not an expensive machine to buy , its running them that costs money , thier hard on juice , especially if your toeing something on a regular basis

honda 350 05-07 i prefered manual shift one but es was good too.
have a 420 now had problems with it but still a good bike, will get another one.
have had a Kawasaki 450 while Honda in for repairs, only so so. it would cover you in sh1t for the fun of it, poor plastics, then had a Kawasaki 750 on loan they seem to have tried to cure the mudguard problems by adding on extra bit to wheel arches. with in a week all of these had fallen off front and back and the front lights fell out, every thing seemed to be fastened together with plastic clips and plastic supporting other plastic bit, very little went back to steel frame... in general i hatted it with it, that said it is mechanically sound.
