    Hi All,

This is probably a very basic question but any help wouold be appreciated. I usually connect my camcorder and some other equipment to my tv using the composite video leads....yellow, red and white. I notice newer tv's dont have this only red blue green and white which are Pr, Pb, Y, L and R. What are these for and can I still use my red, yellow and white connections with this? If not what do you do?

If theres a scart port you can use that. Just get the little adapter. If there are any games consoles around your house you could probable rob one from them.

The red, green, blue is component if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure you could get an adapter or box of some sort to use them too. There are cables and work arounds for most things these days after a bit of googling.

Component video (RGB+RW) - not composite (Y+RW used to always mix them up) - means you can get upto 1080p (full HD) onto your TV, instead of composite's 480p (PAL standard). You just need the right cable for your camcorder or anything else you wanna connect.

Basically, it's Red, Green, Blue, Left speaker, Right speaker. It also syncs horizontal + vertical alignment over the green cable - aka sync on green.

This is a Component to HDMI cable so a know how they look..

Thanks all, Thats a good help. It will just mean I suppose that if I do up grade my telly I should probably look for a new cable for connecting my camcorder. I have one of those scart adaptors but as I would usually have both of the scarts in use I always used the red yellow and white connectors because they were on the side of the telly and easy to get at. Just another thing to be thinking about I suppose. Thanks again lads.
