Does anyone know any good websites or books?

    I can't find anything :(

Not sure if you noticed, but the EO exam posted recently by the PAC is limited to 3 government departments, and not to anybody else.

Looks like any CO's that are promoted to SO/EO in those departments will not be replaced so there is going to be even less of them in those departments.

personally i wouldnt bother doing any exam for the civil service, waste of bloody time as I've done loads and never got in and worked as an heo in UK civil service for 12 yrs, now working in private sector and earning much more than EO, if u can avoid working for civil service then please do because they are a lazy bunch of one trick ponies with no gumption!!! and i'm not bitter....sorry, yes I am but I'm better off:D

Also if you do well in the exam and interview you'll end up working with the thickest c*nts imaginable and you'll have to adapt (dumb down) to fit in :D

The ones to focus on are the Verbal reasoning and Job Sim. The Maths require a pass mark. For the Verbal reasoning it's True/False/Can't say. There are examples online. For the Job Sim you have to decide if the statement is good/bad and then give it a rating of 1/2/3. People who risk a + or - 3 usually do best.

Have a look at this site, the verbal and numerical reasoning practice tests are in an identical format to what you'd be doing on an EO/ AO exam.
