While sifting through the many threads of high users of downloads etc, it occured to me to ask the audience what are the questions that I should be asking of current service provider and checking out what the compeition has on offer when it comes to getting the best value for our needs.

Starting calling around yesterday and typical sales people tell tell tell and not much in way of explaining. Kids would use youtube a bit but streaming is quite slow (is that the right terminology?? its start stop start stop). Primarily we browse, did notice though that when xbox is playing both the net and xbox can go slow at times.

Landline is required, although little usage but a stay at home dependant requires it.

Input much appreciated, thanks in advance. :P

One thing to note is that eircom have recently changed their off peak hours from 6pm to 8am to a new 7pm to 7am (weekends still off peak).

It means less off peak hours and could cost more depending on when you make calls compared to other providers.

The (eircom) sales people tend to have what seems like a script and if you ask anything outside of the script they don't know.
