Just got my new iphone from 3 today and so I tried to update to the newest software on my iPhone 4 and when I that, it told me that an error occurred and that I would have to restore it. No big deal. But when I tried to restore it before it gets to the end of the "verifying iPhone software" I get an "error 9 unknown". What does that mean and how do I get my iPhone back up??? many thanks :(

    Thats an easy one ;)

You need to update to the latest version of iTunes to restore it. The older versions of iTunes don't understand 4.0.1

Did you try to change the cable or usb port? Mostly error 9 can be solved by that way.
