The first song is something that reflects you both as a couple. Make sure that the words, rhythm and overall essance of the song fits you both and dont go for something just because its a 'love' song
Here are some possible suggestions but in the end only you (as a couple) can decide
    • Greatest Day – Take That
    • Rule The world – Take That
    • You’re Just Too Good To Be True – Andy Williams
    • That’s Amore – Dean Martin (Waltz)
    • Have I Told You Lately That I Love You – Van Morrisson
    • You Look Wonderful Tonight – Eric Clapton
    • It Had To Be You – Harry Connick Jr.
    • Let There Be Love – Nat King Cole
    • When You Say Nothing At All – Ronan Keating
    • Let’s Stay Together – Al Green

QFT. It should really be something that has a connection to the both of you. The first time ye met, first date, first concert etc. Don't go for the bland Love By Numbers songs you'd find in wedding magazines. Make it personal to the both of you.

We're getting married in two weeks and we have been trying to agree on a song with ages but unable to at the moment. Two of our favourites are Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter and The Golden Horde - Friends in time but we can't decide fully.

We've been together 13 years so I was thinking of maybe using a slow song that we danced to when we first met although I'm struggling to find that many from 1997 although there must have been some. At the moment these are the only ones i can find but don't really like any of them.

From This Moment On – Shania Twain (1997)
I Do (Cherish You) – Mark Wills (1998)
It’s Your Love – Tim McGraw & Faith Hill (1997)
My Best Friend – Tim McGraw (1997)
Now That I Found You – Terri Clark (1998)
The Gift – Collin Raye (1997)
The Rest Of Mine – Trace Atkins (1997)
With This Ring – Sawyer Brown (1997)
You Are The Love Of My Life – Sammy Kershaw (1997)
Your Still The One – Shania Twain (1997)
You’ve Got A Way With Me – Shania Twain (1997)
    Valentine – Martina McBride (1997)

What do you think? Anyone got any suggestions?

I'd +1 to Romeo & Juliet, it's an epic song! The only thing that put us off it was the length (neither of us wants to be standing alone on the dancefloor for that long :o) but it's definitely one of my favourites and we'll have it at another stage of the night.

Was once at a wedding where The Voyage by Christy Moore was used as the couple walked out of the church, I tell you there wasn't a dry eye in the house!!!
