    hi everyone,
I'm a first year corporate law student in NUIG who has just sat repeats. I feel they didn't go fantastic. I was wondering if anyone knows the possibility of carrying subjects into second year? Any help would be great thanks.

The thing with repeats is you don't know the results until maybe the 2nd week into the course. My advice would go into the classes as normal for second year, and go talk to your course director/course advisor and talk to them about it. Asking them if their is anyway you can continue on the course year and doing the subject alongside with it.

You can also try and appeal the repeat, this involves your writing a letter to the exams office explaining your situation and also getting a letter from your course director. I know someone who failed one of his repeats in second year, and got it appealed and they allowed him to go into second year with it.

Im a first year corp student aswel and you can carry the commerce subjects into 2nd year providing you pass all of your law subjects! I know a few people who took mis while in 2nd year! But if you dont pass your law subjects im pretty sure you will have to repeat 1st year : ( hope this helps!

You can also appeal the decision of the repeats on Medical Grounds (if you have any Medical Problems) they do not have to be life threatening, just something that could have effected you in the exam. Or a death in the family etc.

I know this to be 100% true as I was awaiting surgery to take place 2 weeks after my repeats. I ended up failing an exam by 10 points, my appeal letter had to go before the university board and I had to provide proof of my surgery. They ended up giving me those extra 10 points and so I passed.
