Where to buy Astra Wing Mirror backing piece?

OH has NCT coming up on 2000 reg astra but the two backs off the wing mirrors are missing.
Have tried breakers yards but they will only sell the entire wing mirror units and they're about €80 for 2. The dealer wants €90 for two backing pieces - there has to be somewhere I can buy these cheaper? Anywhere online? Have tried ebay but can't see anything ... am I missing something?
    Thanks!!

eBay can nearly be more expensive than main dealers these days unless the parts are secondhand. Try your local motor factors, they may be able to get you spurious ones.

Thanks guys, have tried the motor factors but they don't do spurious ones.
Have e-mailed a few on ebay too.
Anyone know anywhere online that sells Astra parts even in the UK? Has to be cheaper than the €90 the dealer here wants:eek:

Why don't you try a northern Vauxhall Dealer? The postage should be a bit cheaper for you too.

click onto www.quotemeparts.com , and advertise what part you are looking for, its free. They do a lot with breakers here and in the UK

If you want just black plastic ones (not painted) they are 20 each from main dealer.

I'd buy it from a UK Wholesale motorfactors, it will be less then half what you will pay here, and include the delivery cost. Be sure to make sure its pre painted, as some of these parts are just the bare black plastic and need to be sprayed! I know someone who cracked an 09 avensis wing mirror backing plate against a carpark ticket machine, it cost 70 quid to buy one from Toyota and get it sprayed. Look around!

Lucifer - What main dealer is selling them for €20? The one near us wants €45 each ... black wouldn't be a problem! Its not as if they would devalue the car much as OH intends keeping it until basically it won't move anymore:P

jock101 -would a wholesale motorfactors sell one item non-wholesale do you think?
    Any recommendations on any?
Will Google to check but in case you can give me any heads up:)

Rang a dealer in Dungannon and 2 black covers are £32 + £11 postage so if all comes to all I'll get them there and still save €40 ish!

I work in an opel main dealer. The part numbers for the black covers are 1428858 LH and 1428859 RH. The other way they are supplied is primed and then you need to get it painted aswell which can work out expensive. If you have any trouble getting the black covers send me a PM, they usually keep them in stock where I work and they cost around €20 plus VAT.

    Hey,

I needed one two, and ended up getting the whole mirror for 30 quid on line. I got it on eBay, but this is the crowd I got it of... http://www.aepdirect.com/. You might find em on ebay if you search around.

I got some parts in a scrap yard (theres s big one in killkock) was only a fiver for some trim that I pulled of some scrap cars!

    Go Team!
