Ford Bluetooth Problem (Solved)

    Hello All,

    Thought I'd share a problem.

I have a Focus 07 with in-built bluetooth. Bought a new Nokia 6700. When I tried to Bond it I couldn't get it to work. I got an error that bonding had failed.

Ford in their technical website says the Nokia 6700 is not compatible or at least they haven't tested it yet. So I bought a Nokia 5000 which Ford said was compatible. This phone didn't work either (so I began to investigate).

Low and behold I got the Nokia 6700 to work.

What you have to do is as follows:
    1. DEBOND all other phones on your Ford. To do this you have to press the PHONE button on the FORD 6000 console, then press the MENU button and flick through the choices until you get to DEBOND. Remove each bonded phone one by one.
    2. Once all the phones are DEBONDED you have to bond your new one.

NOTE: In order to use the phone menu functionality one of your previous bonded phones has to be present with you in the car. If you don't have at least one of the bonded phones in the car with you then you will get an 'Unavailable' error when you press the phone button/icon on the Ford 6000 unit. If anyone knows of a way around this (i.e they can get the phone menu to work without a bonded phone present) let us know.

Anyways hope this helps others because I've spend a month trying to figure this one out.

Thanks EOC that's solved a problem which had me up the walls for the past month.

    brilliant!

I was able to debond all 6 bonded phones without having any of them in the car!! - didnt seem to be a problem - just used the menu as your directions.

    ;)

    Hello,
Yes it happened to me again. One change to my above post is that you don't need a phone in the car to debond. Just follow the instructions to debond all the phones and then bond your new one.
    Regards
    EoC
