Air Compressor Troubles

I have a Paasche D200-50 air compressor and was wondering if there's anywhere either in Dublin or Galway I could get an adaptor for it, as it doesn't fit the hose I have for my airbrush. Any suggestions?

Paasche Compressors have an awkward fitting and usually ship with an airline and or adaptor (mine came with both, but it was years ago), so what you need is something off this page-

    http://www.paascheairbrush.com/acc_hoses.html

A lot of places may be able to help once they know the sizes you need, all the fitting sizes are usually 1/8" but the paasche fitting is bigger its a 1/4". There are some other sizes but I guess these are the ones you need.
So you may be better off getting an airline with these fittings at each end.
In the past I bought Paasche equipment in O'Sullivans but as I said it was years ago and don't know if they still sell this.

A very good place in Dublin for spray painting supplies is-

    http://www.vinnybyrnestore.com/index.php

If they don't have it they probably know who will.
But its a small fairly light weight unit, so you could try bringing it with you to make sure you get what you need. Garage suppliers etc may also stock these parts try Golden Pages for your area.
You will certainly get these parts on Ebay, postage could be pricey though!
Finally here is a link to a PDF of your compressor-

Anyway good luck with your search!

Hi there, Im literally on the verge of buying my first airbrush kit and really want to know where I should start and what I will need. I see you talking about compressors, im going to assume this is most expensive part of the venture. I'm interested in maybe getting this: http://www.corkartsupplies.com/store/product/15/Aztek-A430-Kit/

but could you guys recommend anything else I should consider? And is there anywhere in galway to get this stuff?

    Thanks a lot!

The Aztec is a great brush to start off with. When I am teaching airbrush techniques, its invariably an Aztec we will start with. The gun comes in two flavours- single action and double action, this one is double action by the way. Whats different about this over other makes is the interchangeable nozzle system. Most airbrushes have a needle running through the length of the body and the unit must be partially disassembled to clean it properly, even between colour changes. Where the Aztec differs is the fact it uses nozzles which contain needle and jet this means you can clean the unit without a big pull down. You can also buy different nozzles for different applications. It comes with a general purpose nozzle which covers most apps, the other ones are fine line, acrylic and splatter which you can add to later if you wish although the standard one is good enough for most things.
Another thing to point out is the fact that it truly is ambidextrous, thats important if your a lefty like me! This is achieved by having two ports on the body you put your paint pot on left or right depending on your orientation and put a plug into the other side. So yeah a nice gun thats very forgiving for those starting out at a good price point.
One last thing the instructional video although very good really is an instructional video on VHS!, so hope ya kept the VCR.
I use a lot of different airbrushes such as Iwata, Paasche and Aerograph but I will always find space for an Aztec in my collection.
This is a link to a thread I posted on from last year (post 5)

Meant to be good. But have never tried it. But you can't get wrong with that price, the only thing is, you might need to get new needle and nozzle.
Those are two parts which do need to be replaced from time to time and don't cost a fortune, so go for it.

    You didn't, it looks like...

Anyway, it seems to me, that the 1st 'brush is much better quality, there's no air compressor with it, but you can pick some of the Chinese, like that one, pretty cheap-ish.

Many thanks to judas1369 for the advice. Sadly I couldn't get the fitting in Dublin but eventually managed to in Galway. Cheers,
