Does anyone know how long it takes to transfer money between accounts? From an AIB account to a BOI account?

It depends on how you do it. You have 3 options really:

1: Online transfer - this takes 24-48 hours providing you already have the beneficiary account added on your online profile.

2: Giro transfer - if you have a pre-encoded lodgement docket for the BOI account, you can do a transfer from your account at any AIB branch. This will take up to 5 days as it has to go through the clearing system.

3: Cash lodgement - withdraw cash from your AIB account, pop into a BOI branch, and lodge it into their account with the tellers. The cash will show up in the account instantly.
