Service Charges Tax Relief for Apartment Owners?

I am an apartment owner. I pay my management company 1600e a year in management fees.

The management company looks after the bin charges for all the apartments in our block and pays Dublin City Council on my behalf.

Am I able to claim the service charge tax credit because, indirectly, I am paying Dublin City Council to collect my bins?

It's a bit of a grey area on the revenue website.

Thanks for any replies in advance!

You can claim for the service charges portion of the management fee. Revenue will update the service charges credit for you over the phone, so if you were to ring the lo - call number, they'd update it for you.

If they request the details in writing, the management company should not have an issue giving you a breakdown of what the fees relate to anyhow.
