The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) is to hold various Grant Information Evenings in libraries around the country for students who are returning to or starting college this year.

These events, to take place throughout August, will give students the opportunity to find out everything they need know about the student grants system in Ireland.

Free practical help will also be available to students who may need assistance filling out the relevant grant forms.

USI has welcomed the early announcement of the 2010 student grant schemes and the introduction of an improved application system for students.

Application forms for the grants have been made available earlier for students and this year, are also, downloadable from the internet.

Seems like a good idea to me

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
