HTC Desire Galway

Has anyone seen the HTC Desire phone in stock recently anywhere in Galway? Hard bugger to find.
Preferably not o2, but if it can't be found anywhere else...

Ditto on that, but it is the non Apple fans phone to have apparently, the samsung Galaxy looks like a good alternative a friend of mine has one and its a nice piece of kit only thing is unlike the HTC Desire it's not the phone to be seen with.

Yeah I'm quite happy with my temperamental old piece of junk, the HTC is actually to be a birthday gift. Fortunately the recipient isn't daft enough to install anything a text message tells her to. I'll give carphone warehouse a try, and I just found out o2 isn't such a bad option after all (Thought all her family were on meteor) so hopefully I'll nab one.

Nice present! Good to hear not daft enough to fall for that, cos it is true that the biggest security flaw in any software is between the users ears!

Android phones have the option to disable 'unknown sources' for applications, that simple setting is enough top prevent one of these 'viruses' infecting your phone.

Three things need to happen for that scam to work.

Firstly you have to actually receive the text message.

Secondly you need to have "Unknown Sources" checked in the application options (off by default)

and thirdly you would need to be an idiot.

Hm, does anyone know if it's possible to reserve one of the phones in stock, possibly with a deposit?
Birthday isn't for a month, but I want to get her the phone while they're in stock as stocks seem to be rather unreliable.
I could buy online, but I'd start being billed right away, which meants paying for a month of the phone being off and hidden in a wardrobe :pac:. Bit of a bummer since I wanted to get the phone and pay for the first month for the user before transferring everything over to their name.

Hey there,
I wouldn't get the desire at this stage to be honest. The Desire HD is out in October so wait for that.
I have the Desire myself and it's fantastic but would be annoyed if I got one now without knowing the HD was coming out.

Did you hear that apparently there are now o viruses for computers too. I think to be safe I'll go back to the type writer until the sort it all out.
