Hi guys, I am taking my folks to Rome end of September and I am looking for reasonably priced hotels near enough to the main tourist attractions. The one thing i would like included is a nice brekkie.

    Any suggestions?

The words "reasonably priced" and "tourist attraction" don't really go together when it comes to Rome Ive found!

If you're willing to go slightly further afield you can get some very good prices for places that are near the Metro stops. If the hussle and bussle of the Roman underground isnt a problem for them, that is.

Rome is so spread out that there's no one hotel which is near to all the sights.
We stayed here before, it's about 2 mins from the Trevi fountain and it was fine.

We're going back in September and we're staying here because

    http://www.hotelgiorgina.it/inghotel.htm

    a) It's cheap
    b) It's beside the Termini (main bus/rail station)

Don't know what it's like but E60 a night for a double room is very cheap for a hotel in Rome.

I stayed in the Hotel Artemide with my father. It was really near to all the attractions and my dad still goes on about how amazing the breakfast was. It's also ranked very highly on tripadvisor.

Im looking to go to Rome in October and looking for a decent (yet cheap hotel :P)

Ive looked at a few listed below and they range from €1,200 for 4 nights - €300

    http://www.hotelgiorgina.it/inghotel.htm

The above has a couple of good reviews but the bad ones have put me off and the pictures leave alot to be desired, when I saw the words "unsafe" on more than one I thought it best to steer away

Ive a budget of about €500 for a double room, gonna keep looking but suggestions are welcome,

Sorry if im hijacking your thread

    EVERYONE HELP MITSY TOO!!! :P:P:P

Stayed here http://www.concordiahotel.it/ last year. Pretty central, midway between Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain - just over 5 min. from each.

Breakfasts were continental, but plenty of chocolate pastry's if you are early enough.

Hotel Crosti in Termini area. It's a popular 3* hotel, so availability for your dates could be an issue.

We have booked the IQ hotel in Rome for the autumn that is worth checking out

the trip advisor reviews are Here

It seems a slightly different concept from normal hotels.
Its more of a "self service" model
It looks appealing and the reviews are excellent.

Its only open a couple of months and its in the top 10 hotels in Rome

Hotel Londra & Cargill we stayed in was fine . About 5 mins walk to Trevi fountain. Breakfast is continental but we stocked up with plenty of rolls and pastries to keep us going till dinner time.Just watch for the pickpockets on the underground. Managed to relieve me of my wallet.

I was just about to recommend Hotel Giorgina as I've stayed there myself :p

Yeah it's only about 2 minutes from Termini and is very cheap. They give you a breakfast in the morning consisting of croissants, toast and bread rolls. They also serve coffee but not tea.

The room I had was relatively nice. It had marble tiles and seemed clean. The lobby and stairway were a bit dingy, and the elevator seemed as if it would break down any minute. It wouldn't put me off going back there though, as you'd have difficulty finding better value in central Rome.

I haven't stayed here, but read about this place in a travel article and intend to stay there the next time I am going to Rome:

    http://www.bluehostel.it/Home.html

Don't be put off by the word 'hostel', it seems to have hotel style rooms and ammenities. It's seriously cheap for Rome and gets good reviews on Trip Advisor.

Sorry, just realised that the website doesn't have prices on it, but it seems to cost between €45-60 per night for a double ensuite room. That doesn't include brekkie, so may not suit the OP, but might be an option for other travellers on a budget!

Stayed at Hotel Diocleziano at start of July, right beside Termini but in a quiet street.Handy to get around sightseeing.Got a great deal off 1800hotels.....which might explain why they went bust!Try hotels own website, helpful staff, free wifi/internet and decent brekkie also.
