This may have been covered elsewhere but I cannot find it.

I have not updated my operating system since i got my 3GS this time last year - it runs on OS 3.1. I am now thinking of updating to the latest version, OS 4.0.1

I am aware that some people on the 3G have had major problems. Have there been similar problems with the 3GS? And is it worth my while upgrading?

    Thanks in advance.

I think some people find that when updating a 3G the iPhone becomes very laggy, but the 3GS's performance remains intact.
iOS4 is handy for folders and the facelift is nice when you get used to it - wouldn't have much time for backrounding though.

imo, it's worth upgrading and having the latest & greatest.
