LJs site is showing that "Sport Italia 2" on Atlantic Bird 1 (12.5w) will be showing todays game free and live from Lansdowne...

However, I'm having difficulty picking up -> 12545.00 H, 17455 3/4 on 12.5w... I'm in Limerick with an 80cm dish. I'm getting about 30%-35% Quality stats and 44% BER for this freq. Is that about all I could expect that far west on an 80cm dish?
What size dish should pick up this freq reliably (i.e. most weather conditions) that far west?

I'm in Mayo and get similar on a 80cm dish. I don't recall the % figures off the top of my head. On a clear day I get no picture breakup but as soon as it starts raining I get breakup - (which normally happens just as the game is 10 mins in...).

Having said that I've recently changed my receiver (MVision HD300) since watching 12W last year and I am also now using a Inverto Black Ultra LNB which definitely has a better tolerance for lower quality signals. I was messing about with 7E last night and managed to bring in and watch Europe B beam channels at 36% quality which I couldn't do with my old LNB.

So if you can't get a larger dish maybe changing the LNB would help. I did a test on 12W when I 1st got the new LNB - it was raining and the picture didn't break up as much with the Inverto. Hopefully that will stay the same throughout diff weather conditions.

As for dish sizes - allowing for rain fade at least 120-150cm according to here

Cheers MBSnr... happy to hear that those would be normal enough figures. Yeah my lnb is fairly old and cheap on the motorised dish and I am considering upgrading that. I may also get a 90cm or 1m dish if I spot one secondhand somewhere

Does this mean transmission is delayed by 15 mins?

    "(i) Sport Italia 2 coverage +15mins" from LJ's site

    D'oh hadn't noticed that...
I suppose it doesn't matter to me now anyway as I'm not likely to get a stable picture anyway

Usually means they'll join the game 15 mins late if memory serves me correct.

    Possible official stream - http://www.sportitalia.com/SI2live.aspx

Sport Italia 2 good signal in Dundalk 1.1 m dish AzBox.

For anyone who can resolve 4:2:2 this feed is on 1 West, with thanks to Satelliweb. 8PSK 5/6 on AzBox. 59% signal but some breakup, happens with HD sometimes. Stunning pictures.

    Fréquence: 11514 - Pol: V - SR: 15000 - FEC: -

    Catégorie: Sport - Football

    Transmis en: MPEG-2 4:2:2

    Infos: Ireland-Argentina(dvb-s2,hdtv)-more

Going out for the evening so wont be around for the match.

Well it looks like it doesn't matter if they are joining the game 15 mins late because it's 15 mins late starting :pac:.

I dont know off hand what % signal i get but its perfect in cork on a 1.1m dish and Tm7100! picture quality is awful tho!

I tried that feed i could hear the commentators talking but box was showing up a black screen and an error saying no audio/video which i thought was very strange. Anyone know why?

You wont get much in the line of feeds with a Sky minidish. Astra 1 and Hotbird perhaps.

It is because the transmission was in the MPEG 4:2:2 format which TM receivers cant decode. The AzBox is the only generally available receiver for 4:2:2.
