No bikes are not permitted on the luas, there isn't enough room on them.

You could bring your bike into a bike shop near you and see if they will repair the puncture for you. It probably wouldn't cost much.

You could always remove the wheels of your bike, and put the frame and the wheels in a big black bag. Now you aren't taking a bike on the Luas, just large luggage!

Off peak and other busy times there generally is room for bicycles on the Luas.

Still forbidden off peak. Though you'd probably get away with it if it's quiet as it's not like they generally have security on the trams. Just make sure the junkies don't try to steal it off you.

I have also witnessed a driver who spotted the bike on the tram put out an announcement for the gentleman with the bike to vacate the tram and he wouldn't move until he did and this was off peak

I've seen this happen once or twice too. I know it's not the drivers who make the rules but it's very annoying - like monument says, there is normally loads of space off-peak, especially on the green line.

A fold up is allowed once it's not opened up.
