Thinking of getting it but don't know much about how fast/reliable it is? Anyone able to help me out/advise me?

    It's not Broadband.

It's Mobile with a WiFi Router. As such it's not consistent. It will vary in speed from 0.05Mbps to 4Mbps. Vary in latency (ping) from 80ms to 2000ms. Frequently not connect (All 3G mobile uses a form of "dialup") and frequently drop connections.

It uses the O2 Mobile Phone system.

O2 don't do any home broadband package, this is just more 3G mobile internet with a router for use at home. Not really reliable in any sense of the word.

I've been using nearly the exact same system now for 2.5 years. I have an o2 'broadband' dongle plugged into a Dovado Router. It used to be good 2 years ago, but everyone and their mother is on it now, so speeds aren't great, ping times are ridiculous, and you can't view a youtube video without it pausing.

Thanks for the replies. Wasn't aware of that at all :o I really am very green when it comes to the workings of broadband.

Can anyone suggest a good broadband package to get? 2 of us moving into an apartment together, both use internet regularly enough but not for anything major, don't download movies or game online, occasionally stream movies or sports but other than that nothing major. Would ideally like to not spend much money on internet but obviously would like fast and reliable internet for our dosh!

    Cheers again!
