buy audi in uk? or Ireland?

    Hi,

Looking for some advice. I want to buy a Audi A4 2007 (would love honde accord but pre 08 tax is too high and cant afford 08). I have 12000 euro to cover it.

I spent literally hours a day for the last few days looking on UK/Ireland car sites for an Audi a4 and they do seem cheaper in the uk inc VRT. But maybe only by 1 or 2 thousand, but the UK ones nearly ALL have milage over 100K. Would anyone here buy a car with that high milage or am i mad? The one thing im thinking is that they are ex rep cars so full service history.

Also there are loads for sale in Ireland although a little more expensive. Im wondering though, are car dealers coming down in price much? If i have cash to pay? I know ill have to ring around but wondering if anyone got some advice.

    So Which better option?:

Irish car with lowish milage but might have to get a 05/06 OR
UK car with high millage but lower price.

Heres an example of the uk one i am thinking about and the irish one: (hope i cant post these links)

    OR

http://www.cbg.ie/Car_Detail.aspx?ID=3899925 High millage but nearer my price.

Sorry for long winded post but just wondering which may be best option.

I think you have to pay it within a few days of entering ireland. So when you bring it home go to your local tax office to register it. although saying that i know a few people who have had the car months without changing it over.

But i wouldnt be able to relax driving as i'd be afraid of getting caught :)

Do you think a audi a4 with over 100000 miles would be a safe enough buy?

I have had vw's only before and i think there the same engines. My 1.9 golf is on 140000 miles and never gave any trouble so im thinking an audi would be same?

if you can afford an 07 now but not an 08, then i would wait 6 months, save alittle and buy an 08 when you cam afford it.

you'll gain from the lower motor tax and easier resale in a few years time.
