Anyone still have tadpoles in ponds?

Hi,
I was just wondering if it's just us, or has anyone else noticed that the tadpoles are very slow to develop into frogs this year? I've seen one or two little frogs in my garden pond, but the rest are still at the tadpole stage.
Last year they had developed into tiny frogs by late June/early July.

Would anyone have any idea as to why this has happened? Could it have been all that cold weather in the early spring?

Will the tadpoles overwinter & develop into frogs next year?

yes here too! what is stopping them develop, very slow this year, have checked a few ponds and all still tadpoes, me confused !

Yes, here tadpoles very late developing also. Well over a month - maybe more - late.

Same here in Baltinglass west wicklow. Alot of tadpoles in pond.

Seemingly it is possible for tadpoles to delay their development and overwinter, and to only change into froglets in the following spring to give themselves an advantage.
