Hi there, was thinking of ordering this dress for a wedding,

    http://www.lipsy.co.uk/store/party-dresses/one-shoulder-pleated-satin-dress-/product-is-DR03021_051

Id be a size 8 on top (not much in boob department!!) and a size 10 on bottom, typical pear shape. I've never had a lipsy dress and have heard they are on the small size. Do you think i should order the size 10, my shoulders are quite small so Im inclined to order the 8 but wedding is at the end of month so dont have much time to find something.

    Thanks

Wow that dress is gorgeous, I'm sure it will be perfect for the wedding with killer heels. I buy quite a lot of clothes from lipsy and I'm a size 8, always found their sizes a good fit. I think you would be fine with the 8 as you don't want it too loose on the shoulder. Good luck!

I tried on the silver version of that dress in the lipsy store in Dundrum......I'm always a size 6 but it wouldn't fit so had to try the size 8, I loved loved loved the dress but it was soooooo short on me, it barely covered my bum, I'm about 5 foot 7 but I think I have a very long torso because dresses tend to look short on me. I'm posting a link to the littlewoods website where this dress has been reviewed by 73 people, a lot of those had to get a size up in this particular dress, one lady has pictures of herself wearing the dress included in her review and it's gorgeous on her but she must be a tiny little thing because the dress goes to just above her knee! http://www.littlewoodsireland.ie/one-shoulder-dress/660418480.prd?browseToken=%2fb%2f1589%2fq%2flipsy%2fs%2fmostrelevant%2c1%2fr%2f100&trail=1589&prdToken=/p/prod2100439-sku3205423#productReviews

    Hope this helps!

Gorgeous dress! I have never personally bought from lipsy but friends of mine have. Both bought their usual size and had no problem however they took AGES to deliver. Waiting 4-5 weeks for dress. I don't know if it's just coincidence that this happened to them both or if they are generally quite bad with delivery but just thought I would give you a heads up!

You should ring up the Dundrum store and see if they have it (it comes in a few colours) and try it on. Then order from the website as I think it's cheaper.

Was in Dundrum on Saturday, they only have this dress in a plum colour, the colour in the picture is much nicer, I normally find that lipsy dresses can be a bit tacky looking but it looked really nice on the hanger, not too short for a wedding at all. I'm going to a wedding myself on Friday, am sorry I didn't order this myself now!

If the OP is anything like my height it is def too short for a wedding, it was right up my bum....best to try it on first!

In fairness now I did't try it on but looked longer than a lot of thing's in my wardrobe :) and I'm 5 6", oh, and a half.

I was so annoyed because it was absolutely beautiful on, really glam, just miles too short, might have been my proportions though, hard to tell really, the stuff us poor ladies have to go through ........:)

Oh tell me about it! Did you check if there was much of a hem on the dress? Could possibly get it let down an inch or 2? Almost everything I buy I have to get altered, taken up, taken in, let down. So handy having a mother who can sew, even though I'm sure she dreads seeing me coming to the door with a bag of clothes, would have nothing that fit me properly otherwise.

I didn't even think to check about the hem, wish I had now:( because it really is a beautiful dress, might pop up again and have a look though good idea!! My mother can sew a button on, that's about it but if she could sew i'd be the exact same as you....i'm always buying things and then intending to get them altered and I never bother.....it's an awkward height, too small for the taller ranges in shops (even though they never have the best variety) but too tall for (most) of the nice dresses in the shops, they don't sit as well on me as they do all 5"4 or 5"5 ladies!
